CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY

Mardin Province/Districts Chambers/Commodity Exchanges held their 18th joint meeting within the scope of activities focused on regional development. The meeting was hosted by Kızıltepe Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The participants of the meeting held on 28 June 2021 were as follows: Mahmut Dündar, Chairman of the Board of Kızıltepe Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KTSO), Secretary General Ahmet Aslan, Accreditation Officer Ferhat Dündar; Mehmet Şahin, Chairman of Kızıltepe Commodity Exchange, Deputy Secretary General, Metin Sert,; Mardin Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MTSO) Deputy Trade Registry Manager Mehmet Emin Duyan, Accreditation Officer Elif İlhan; Nusaybin Commodity Exchange (NTB) Board Chairman Necdet Aktaş, General Secretary Abdullah Dal; Abdulkadir Güneş, Secretary General of Nusaybin Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NTSO); İlhan Özmen, Accreditation Officer; TOBB/TEPAV, Mardin Province/Districts Chamber/Commodity Exchange Academic Advisor and Mardin Artuklu University (MAÜ) Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Economics Lecturer Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Behzat Ekinci.

The agenda items of the meeting were as follows: Good Practices of Chambers/Commodity Exchanges, Media Visibility Activities of Chambers/Commodity Exchanges, Cooperation with Mardin Artuklu University Public, Private and Mixed Sector Cooperation Coordinatorship (MAÜKÖK),Joint Project Team, e-Commerce Integration Activities, Collaborations with Young and Women Entrepreneur Councils, Activities for Regional Development: Local Industrial Product Promotion Activities, Academic Consultancy Term Activity Chart.

Mardin Chambers/Commodity Exchanges provided information about the following examples of good practices they carried out during the period:

KIZILTEPE COMMODITY EXCHANGE (KTB): EU project on the implementation of the fertigation system on large plots.

KIZILTEPE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY(KTSO): Siirt Pistachio planting activities.

MIDYAT CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (MTSO): Establishment activities of Midyat Organized Industrial Site (OSB).

NUSAYBIN COMMODITY EXCHANGE (NTB): Peanut cultivation as a second crop.

NUSAYBİN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (NTSO): Activities related to the establishment of Tekstilkent.

The decisions taken at the meeting are as follows:

Studies for creating a platform called ''e-Academy'' to be conducted withing the scope of cooperation with Mardin Artuklu University (MAÜ) Public, Private and Mixed Sector Cooperation Coordinatorship (MAÜKÖK).

In this context, it is aimed to create a platform for organizing training programs provided by MAU academics basod on their  interest and area of expertise.

New activities were decided to be carried out within the scope of the studies related to the "Integration of Members to the e-Commerce System" which was determined as the thematic target of the Mardin Chambers/Commodity Exchanges for 2021.For this purpose, technical support is planned to be received from the relevant website service providers.

The opportunities for cooperation with the Development Agency was decided to be increased. In this context, the issue of preparing a project with the Dicle Development Agency (DIKA) on "Integration of Members into the e-Commerce System" or obtaining direct technical support from the institution will be discussed.

Potential cooperation opportunities with the Young and Women Entrepreneur Councils were discussed. It was agreed that each Chamber/Commodity Exchange should personally and/or jointly prepare projects in cooperation with the Young and Women Entrepreneur Councils.

Mardin Chambers/Exchanges are heading towards “Promotion of Local Industrial Products” within the scope of regional development activities. In this context, decisions were taken to both create an initiative with the support of the relevant public, private and mixed institutions was  and to carry out activities to ensure that the products produced in Mardin are more intensely on the consumers' agenda.

Moreover a decision was taken to hold 19th Joint Meeting in September 2021, hosted by the Nusaybin Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
