MARKAP HELD THE FIRST CONSULTATION MEETING

The Mardin Development Platform (MARKAP), which was established to identify the problems related to Mardin and to carry out activities to solve them, held its first consultation meeting.

The participants of the meeting, hosted by Mardin Organized Industrial Zone on January 19, 2023, were as follows: Mardin Organized Industrial Zone(OIZ) Deputy Chairman Abdulnasır Duyan, Board Members Şükrü Karaboğa and Salim İlhan, Manager Remzi Fırtına; Faysal Sun, President of Mardin Bulgur Industrialists Association; Ahmet Azun, President of Mardin Textile Industrialists Association; Veysi Duyan, President of Dicle Flour Industrialists Association; Kızıltepe Commodity Exchange (proxy); İbrahim Halil Ramazanoğlu, Deputy Chairman of Kızıltepe Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Mardin Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Hatip Çelik, Secretary General Çetin Sasa; Nusaybin Chamber of Commerce and Industry (attorney); Nusaybin Commodity Exchange (NTB) Chairman of the Board Necdet Aktaş, Secretary General Abdullah Dal, Accreditation Officer Ercan Çelik;DİKA Secretary General Ahmet Alanlı; Representing the president of Mardin Artuklu University (MAU), Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences(FEAS), Department of of Business Administration Assoc.Prof. Erhan Polat, MAU FEAS, Department of Economics Faculty Member, MAÜKÖK Coordinator and Mardin Province/District Chamber/CommodityExchange Academic Advisor Assoc. The agenda items of the meeting were as follows: Establishing the Institutional Infrastructure of MARKAP, Determining the Place and Time of the Second Consultation Meeting, Discussion of the MARKAP Mardin Problem and Solution File, Activities for the New Period.

The main decisions taken at the meeting are as follows:

MARKAP will establish its corporate infrastructure over time. For this purpose, new members will be included in the Platform and each institution will fulfill its responsibility for the effective functioning of the platform. Institutional representation capability will be taken into account in the inclusion of new members.

The main agenda item of the meeting was the discussion of the Mardin Problem and Solution File. In this framework, the problems identified for the agriculture, industry and service sectors were discussed in terms of sub-headings and were prioritized from the highest to the lowest. These were reclassified according to the relevant Ministries and Institutions.

Mardin Problem and Solution File will have a dynamic content. In this context, the file will be updated as problems are resolved, and additional problems are identified. Thus, efforts will be made to solve the existing problems.

Local institutions will be contacted first to resolve the problems. In this context, the support of local stakeholders will also be requested. For issues that cannot be resolved locally, the relevant Ministries will be contacted. For this purpose, an intense lobbying activity will be carried out through corporate visits. After the meeting, the Governor of Mardin Mahmut Demirtaş was visited in his office. During the visit, information about the establishment, purpose, and activities of MARKAP was given and institutional support was requested. During the visit, it was especially emphasized that Mardin needed MARKAP type formations. In this context, the importance of different parties coming together on the common denominator of 'Mardin' and carrying out such activities for solutions to Mardin's problems was mentioned.

Governor Demirtaş congratulated the members for the formation and wished them success and stated that he would participate in the meetings as much as possible and would provide the necessary support.

MARKAP will continue its consultation meetings at regular intervals. The following meeting was decided to be hosted by the Mardin Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
