President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) M. Rifat Hisarcýklýoðlu announced that they have started a housing mobilization for the earthquake zone by contributing 1 billion liras. Hisarcýklýoðlu stated that they decided to implement the Business World Housing Mobilization campaign and said, “In this context, we will build permanent housing for earthquake victims. We have stopped or postponed all our expenditures and investments in TOBB and our subsidiaries, except for the mandatory ones. We are mobilizing all our resources for this good work. by making a cash contribution of 1 billion liras, we are launching the campaign”
Regarding the issue, the press conference held in the Twin Towers of TOBB. TOBB President M.Rifat Hisarcýklýoðlu, TOBB Board Members and TOBB Turkey Sector Assembly Presidents ware attended.Our Chairman of the Board of the board Mahmut DÜNDAR also participated via remote video conferencing.
Hisarcýklýoðlu said at the meeting: "We are participating in the campaign with our Chambers, Stock Exchanges, Sector Assemblies, Women's and Young Entrepreneur Boards, that is, with the whole of our community. They will assume the leadership of this business in 81 provinces and 160 districts and ensure its spread locally. And now we invite the entire business world and our charitable citizens to this mobilization from here. Let's not forget that when we join hands, there is no difficulty that we cannot overcome. .TOBB and the business world have been mobilizing for the earthquake zone since the first day.
Reminding that more than 50 thousand lives were lost in two major earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraþ, TOBB President Hisarcýklýoðlu noted that after this earthquake, as in every national issue, chambers and commodity exchanges, sector assemblies, women and young entrepreneur boards under the TOBB roof mobilized quickly and acted with great mobilization.
Hisarcýklýoðlu said: "So far, we have delivered 6 aircrafts, 7 ships and 4,157 trucks and 725 trucks of relief materials, as well as 5,699 tents, 1,418 containers, 551 construction machinery and mobile cranes to the region. We have provided approximately 6 thousand tents and 3870 containers to provide temporary housing opportunities.Jul. Our Services Sector Assembly established a food kitchen at 24 points and distributed hot meals to 3.5 million people. Currently, we continue to offer 4 hot meals, including iftar and sahur, in 5 tents installed in the region. By coming together with construction material manufacturers, we have made a commitment to price fixing for Deconstruction materials to be used in the houses to be built in the earthquake zone. We have launched 4 projects in order to get the regional economy back on its feet. We have matched our companies that want to buy goods from the earthquake zone with manufacturers in the earthquake zone. We have contributed to the purchase of agricultural and food products left on hand and in the field with national food retailers. By making an agreement with E-Commerce marketplaces, we ensured that no commissions were received from sellers in the earthquake zone. We continue to provide Technical Support for companies whose machines have been damaged in the earthquake zone. We will heal our wounds, we will get our earthquake-affected cities back on their feet.”
